Privacy Policy – Yokai Wiki Search
1. Who we are
The app is published by Dương Mạnh Dũng ("we", "us"), reachable at support@duongminhhoang.store. We act as the controller of the limited data described in section 4 (feedback). For data handled by advertising and analytics providers (section 5), those providers are responsible for their own processing under their own policies.
2. No accounts, no personal profile
The app has no sign-up, sign-in or user profile, and it does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera.
3. Data stored only on your device
These items are created by you and stay in the app's private storage on your device; we do not receive them:
- favourites, Yo-kai marked as befriended (collection progress) and your team line-up;
- history (searches and Yo-kai you viewed, with timestamps, capped in size) and your language choice;
- counters used to decide when to ask for a rating (launch count, detail views, first-launch date).
The backup feature creates a code that you copy and paste yourself; it goes through the Android clipboard only and is never uploaded by the app. Android automatic backup is turned off for the app. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes this data; you can also clear history in Settings.
4. Optional feedback you send us
After you have used the app for a while, it may ask you to rate it. If you choose to send feedback, we store in Google Firebase Cloud Firestore: your star rating, the message you typed (up to 500 characters), the app version, the Android version, the device model, your language setting and a timestamp. It contains no name, email address or advertising ID, and we do not link it to you. Please do not write personal information in the message. We use it only to fix problems and improve the app. We keep it until we delete it; to ask us to delete a message, email us the message text and the approximate date, and we will delete it if we can find it. Choosing 5 stars opens the Google Play review page instead, which is handled by Google.
5. Advertising and third-party components
The app is supported by advertising (banner and occasional full-screen ads). Ads are delivered through an advertising SDK that we integrate, which works with Google AdMob and may include other ad networks and measurement partners. The SDK package that ships with the app includes components from:
| Component | What it is used for |
|---|---|
| Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads SDK | Serving and measuring ads, fraud prevention |
| Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) | Asking for consent where the law requires it |
| Meta Audience Network | Ad network that can serve ads |
| AppsFlyer | Measuring which ad or install source led to an install |
| Google Play Install Referrer | Reading the source of the install from Google Play |
| Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, Cloud Messaging, Cloud Firestore) | Usage statistics, crash reports, remote configuration of ads, feedback delivery (section 4) |
| Google Play Billing library | Included by the SDK; the app does not currently sell anything |
Depending on your region, settings and consent, these components may process: your Android advertising ID and app set ID; IP address and approximate location derived from it; device and network information (model, operating system version, language, time zone, carrier, screen); app interactions (opens, taps, ad impressions and clicks); install source; and diagnostic information (crashes, performance, start-up time). This data is processed by the respective provider under its own policy: Google, Meta, AppsFlyer, Firebase. We do not receive a list of individual users from them; we see aggregated reports.
Consent (EEA, United Kingdom, Switzerland). In these regions the app shows Google's consent form (UMP) and requests ads only after you have answered or when the form is not required. You can change your choice later in the app's Settings (ad privacy options). Where consent is not required, personalised ads follow the settings of your device.
Ads can open other sites. Tapping an ad may open the advertiser's site or store page, which is operated by someone else.
6. Your choices
- Advertising ID: on Android go to Settings > Google (or Privacy) > Ads, then delete or reset your advertising ID or opt out of ads personalisation. Exact menu names vary by device and Android version.
- Consent: change it in the app's Settings (ad privacy options), where shown for your region.
- Local data: clear history in the app, or uninstall the app / clear its storage.
- Feedback: email us as described in section 4.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EEA/UK under the GDPR, Vietnam under Decree 13/2023/ND-CP, and other laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. Because we hold almost no data that identifies you, most requests concern the advertising and analytics providers in section 5; you can use their tools or write to us at support@duongminhhoang.store and we will help where we can. Where the law requires consent, we rely on your consent; for feedback and running the app we rely on our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving it.
8. International transfers and retention
Google, Meta, AppsFlyer and Firebase operate globally, so your data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Retention is determined by each provider under its policy. Feedback is kept as described in section 4. Data on your device stays until you delete it.
9. Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has sent us information, email support@duongminhhoang.store and we will delete it.
10. Security
Local data is kept in the app's private storage. Data sent to Firebase and the ad providers travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
11. Content sources
Much of the Yo-kai information and many images come from the community Yo-kai Watch Wiki (CC BY-SA); Yo-kai and related names and artwork belong to their respective owners. Full credits are in the app under Settings > Sources & credits. The app only opens external links when you tap them.
12. Changes and contact
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date at the top. Questions: Dương Mạnh Dũng, support@duongminhhoang.store.
